Questions
- Does it work on Mac?
- There is no Mac version because TallyPrime itself only runs on Windows. If you run Tally on a Mac inside Parallels or Boot Camp, install the agent inside that Windows environment.
- Which Tally versions are supported?
- TallyPrime on Windows. It has been tested against TallyPrime; Tally.ERP 9 has not been tested and is not officially supported yet.
- Is my data safe?
- The agent only connects out to ThynkFile over HTTPS; it never opens a port on your network. It sends ledger names, groups and balances only, and its sign-in credential is encrypted with Windows data protection on your PC. A firm admin must approve each PC, and can remove it at any time from Settings.
- Do I need a particular plan?
- The agent is part of the Tally integration on the Professional plan or higher.
- How big a company can it handle?
- Companies with a few thousand ledgers sync in seconds; even a 30,000-ledger company takes about a minute. A single trial balance can hold up to 40,000 ledgers. Foreign-currency ledgers are converted to rupees at the rates recorded in Tally.
- How do I remove it?
- Uninstall it from Windows Settings → Apps. To revoke its access, remove the PC under ThynkFile → Settings → Tally Desktop Agent.
